LAHORE: The government, on Sunday, announced the revised fuel prices which will take effect from 12am tonight. The price of petrol was increased by Rs 4.6 per litre.
The announcement was made by Miftah Ismail, PM’s advisor on finance. He said that the raise in fuel prices was approved by Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on the recommendation of Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA). He further said that fuel prices were also increasing in the international market and despite the increase, the rates for fuel in Pakistan were less in Pakistan compared to Turkey, India and Bangladesh.
After the Rs 4.6 increase, the new price of petrol will be Rs 81.53.
High speed diesel price went up by Rs 3.96 and its new price will be Rs 89.91 per litre. The price of light diesel increased by Rs 6.25 and its new price will be Rs 58.37 per litre.
Kerosene oil saw the highest price increase of Rs 6.79. Its new price will be Rs 64.30 per litre.
