LAHORE: In the wake of nationwide protests and uproar against the rise in the incidents of child abuse, Punjab Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday formed a committee for the protection of children.
The committee, headed by Punjab law minister Rana Sanaullah, will comprise of 20 members including Rana Mashhood and Punjab Inspector General.
According to the notification, the committee will review and recommend measures to prevent the increasing trend of child abuses in the society.
The committee will send a proposal to the Chief Minister within 15 days pertaining to the inclusion of child safety measures and related university research articles in the curriculum.
A report will also be prepared to shed light on the delay and developments in the abuse cases against children.
