LAHORE: China defended Pakistan on Tuesday following United States (US) President Donald Trump’s accusations that Pakistan has deceived and lied to the US.
Defending the longtime ally, Chinese Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Geng Shuang said that Pakistan has made enormous contributions in the global war against terrorism. He also said that China is happy to see Pakistan and the international community engaging in the war against terrorism with mutual for each other in order to establish peace and stability in the region.
He further said that China and Pakistan are all-weather partners. We stand ready to promote and deepen our all-around cooperation so as to bring benefits to the two sides, he added.
Responding to a question regarding the affect Trump’s statement would have on China’s efforts would have on working for peace in the region, he said that China, Pakistan and Afghanistan were tied together for mutual interest and it was only natural for them to enhance communication with each other.
