Dozens of employees of the Johi taluka municipal administration (TMA) held a protest on Sunday in Johi town against Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) town committee councillor Abdul Majeed Jamali for withholding their salaries for the last two months ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Reportedly, 25 sanitation workers including Faqie Essa Bahoto, Abdul Hafeez Birohi, Soomar Thahim, Hameed Babar, Asif Soomro and Wajid Ali Lund gathered at Shaheed Bashir Thaim road which suspended traffic flow for several hours.
The protesters strongly condemned the nonpayment of remuneration amount, and claimed that they were being victimised by Abdul Majeed Jamali because they did not cast votes to PPP’s candidates, who lost the elections for constituencies of PS-Johi and NA-Dadu in the recent general elections.
Furthermore, they accused Johi TMA of committing massive corruption.
Meanwhile, they appealed to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) and Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) for taking notice of the corruption and malpractices in Johi TMA.
